This book is very clear to use for beginners who wish to learn Electric Guitar. Young beginners would enjoy this book even more as the help from Kurt Cobain look alike "Marshall" helps along with the journey to the end of the book. The CD is also very useful and helps. I would definitely rate this book 5 stars!

5/5* This is truly a great book. Having, tried to learn many times through other books....that seem to have been written by old-fogies that just hit you with the complex stuff straight-away. This is easy to pick up...and easy to learn...fun, even!!!
Features guitar extracts from Slash, Oasis, Hendrix, blink 182, Mettalica,U2,Rage against the machine and Eric Clapton.

I've just started learning to play guitar and was recommended the Xtreme series by a friend of mine - and what great advice it was! This is a great book to get you started with guitar, from how to sit/stand corrently through to "play like your heroes" with a selection of riffs to play in the style of your favourite guitarist. You can't go wrong with this, I can't recommend it enough.

Loaned this from my local library. I found it wonderful, esp to understand, and have progressed more than I thought I would. Practice at least 30 mins per day. Now I practice 60 mins per dag.
Now I will purchase this book.

I was most impressed by this book - informative and well worth a look if you're thinking of taking up the electric guitar (especially for kids). I couldn't put it down!

I had never held a guitar before and this book explained everything I needed to know to get started. In a very informal style it explains chords and notes everything from tunning to playing
I enjoyed this book and while I am no expert I did get to a reasonable level, I plan use it again to polish up my style. Also the cd that comes with it is very useful to compare yourself to the experts.
